Each school in UT is required to organize a School Community Council consisting of school employees, the school principal, and parents or guardians of students who are attending the local school. Elementary school councils shall have at least four parent or guardian members. The Council meets monthly and will be expected to attend an annual district training.
The council meets monthly and members will establish meeting dates. The school community council shall participate in the development of a Teacher & Student Success Plan, (TSSP) which includes the School LAND Trust Plan and funds. The council also develops and submits annually a Safe Routing/Walking Plan and Digital Citizenship Plan. In addition, the council shall provide a forum for community discussion of school-related concerns.
Bell View Elementary will be electing some new members to the School Community Council this year. We have positions available. If you would be interested in serving as a member of our school community council, please complete the portion below and return to Bell View Elementary by Friday, September 4, 2019. If needed, an election will be held to determine the members who will serve on the school community council. It will take place September 14th. The ballot will come home with your student and will be due back to the school by September 21th. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to become an active participant in our school and your child’s educational experience.
