Perhaps you’ve read the book or watched the movie “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.” Bell View students read the book in library and created art projects in art class based on the book. Miss Shakespear, our amazing art brain booster teacher, chose some elements of design for each class to use in their projects. Kindergarten focused on shape. First grade studied shape and pattern. Second grade looked at form (2D & 3D) and pattern. Third grade concentrated on shape. Fourth grade studied form, and fifth grade explored form and pattern. Miss Shakespear said that reading a book and being able to mentally place their projects inside a story is good for students’ creative minds.
If you look closely, you can see Mona Lisa enjoying the students’ projects. Ask your student who Mona Lisa is and how she relates to art class.
